Tenant Admins can customize the Logixboard menu experience. You can rename items, reorder pages, group tools, add external links, and create different navigation layouts for different user roles.
By tailoring the navigation to match your terminology, processes, and user roles, you reduce confusion, simplify the experience, and make the platform feel like a seamless extension of your own operations.
How Navigation Profiles Work
Navigation is controlled through Profiles. A profile is a complete navigation layout unique to different roles. There are two profile types are:
Default profile
The fallback layout is shown to all users unless a role-specific profile overrides it. Default profile is also shown in Demo Mode.
Role-specific profile
A layout assigned to specific roles (and optionally organizations)
Tenant Admin
Tenant User
Org Assigned Tenant User
Org User
External User
How to Customize the Navigation Bar (text)
Default Profile
Go to Gear icon in the upper-right screen
Click Settings
Select Navigation on the bottom of the left-hand menu
You'll be taken to the Default Profile
You can choose to add three different types of navigation items. Here's what each one means:
Add Route
You can add a feature, like "Shipments", "Dashboard", "Analytics", etc.
Add Group
You can add a parent folder and child links. The "Group" will be the menu title with a dropdown of additional links. An example:
Group: "Tracking"
Route 1: Shipments
Route 2: Containers
Route 3: Trucking Jobs
Add Custom Link
You can add any URL link unrelated to Logixboard. This includes linking out to external training, documentation, and anything else.
Custom Profile
Once you create your Default Profile and published it, this will be viewable for all user types. If you wish to have different views for different user types, do the following:
Click Create New Profile
Add the Name to the new profile
Add the Navigation Items
Click Add Assignment below Navigation Items
Select one role from:
Click Save Assignments
Click Publish
Once published, this profile will override the Default Profile for any users assigned to the Custom Profile role, ensuring they see the customized navigation instead of the default layout.
Navigation Profile Priority
When a user opens Logixboard, the system decides which navigation profile to display using the following priority order. The most specific match always displays.
Priority | Profile Type | What It Means | Example |
1 (Highest) | Role + Organization Profile | A published profile assigned to a specific role and organization | Tenant User + Organization A |
2 (Medium) | Role-Only Profile | A published profile assigned to a role across all organizations | Tenant Admin |
3 (Fallback) | Default Profile | The profile marked Default that applies when no role-based profile matches | Main Navigation |
Even if a profile is set as Default, it will not appear for users who match a published role-based profile, because role assignments always take priority. Here's another way to think about what your users see:
Practical Ways to Customize Navigation
Here are strategic ways forwarders are using this feature:
Align Navigation with Your Terminology
You can rename items to match your language, like:
“Accounting” → “Billing”
“Shipments” → “Tracking”
“Orders” → “PO Management”
This reduces confusion for customers unfamiliar with freight-forwarding terminology, and instead familiar with actions they need to take.
Create a Sales Rep + Operator Enablement View
You can create a profile specifically for internal Sales Reps and Operators that includes:
Standard operational routes
A group called “Training & Marketing” that links to:
Product demo videos
Customer-facing marketing videos
Customer onboarding guides
Sales and demo guides
Customer-facing how-to guides
This allows Sales Reps to quickly grab materials during live calls and quickly send branded marketing resources to customers, while Operators will have easy access to internal SOPs and training documentation.
