When inviting an operator, you will have more flexibility on defining the organizations they can access by being able to:

  • Give no organizational access limits

  • Limit organizational access based on CargoWise Staff Permissions

  • Limit organizational access based on CargoWise Branch

🛠️ Branch Based Access is an opt-in feature. To enable it, please contact your Customer Success Manager or Support at [email protected]

Branch based permissions allow you to:

  • Protect sensitive data by letting you give your operators access to only those orgs related to their branch(es).

  • Reduce noise for your operators by providing them with an experience focused only on the organizations they work with.

  • Easily maintain organization to operator relationships.

  • Have more flexibility when limiting organizational access.

💡 Branch Access is only supported for a user when there are fewer than 1000 orgs associated with their branch.

    • Limit organizational access based on CargoWise Staff Permissions

  6. Select CargoWise Branch. Then type and select 1+ branches to associate to the user.

    1. All organizations in your CargoWise that have the selected branch(es) as the "controlling branch" will be visible to the user.

    2. Finally, click Send Invitation.

FAQs

Q: Can your Operators be associated with multiple branches across different companies? A: Yes, give you the flexibility to associate Operators to multiple branches, regardless of what company they fall under. For example, an Operator could be associated with a branch from Company A and a branch from Company B.

Q: Can an organization have more than 1 controlling branch? A: Yes, organizations can have more than 1 controlling branch per company. If an organization has different controlling branches under different companies then users with access to any matching branch will have access to all data for that organization.

Q: Will user admins be able to associate Operators to inactive branches? A: No, only active branches will show in the Invite New User and Edit User modals.

Q: What happens if a branch is switched to inactive in CargoWise? A: If a branch is switched to inactive in CargoWise we will stop showing any associated Operators data that belongs to any organizations within the now inactive branch unless one of the other branches the Operator is related to is a controlling branch for that org.

Q: If a branch is added, or removed, from an organization will those updates happen automatically in Logixboard? A: Yes, we regularly check for updates to the organization. If the controlling branch for an organization has changed we will update all Operators with access to the organization.

Q: If a tenant admin associates an Operator to a branch, will they be able to edit the organizations within that branch for the Operator in Logixboard? A: No, they will not be able to update a branch's organizations within Logixboard. Any changes will need to be made on the organization within CargoWise.

Q: Do all organizations have a controlling branch? A: No, organizations are not required to have a controlling branch. If an organization does not have controlling branch we will not show users data from that organization for someone using Branch Access. If you would like to make a change, this will need to be made on the organization within CargoWise.

Q: Can you use both CargoWise Staff Assignments and branch-based access for the same user? A: No. You will have to select whether you want to limit org access based on a branch relationship or CargoWise Staff Permissions.
