What is Public Access?

Public (non-authenticated) access in Logixboard allows users to view certain information related to Shipments without logging in. This feature provides a balance between accessibility and data protection.

What Can Non-Authenticated Users See and Do?

1. View Shipment info without logging in

When a user visits a Logixboard page (via URL) that supports public access and they do not have an active Logixboard session, they will be presented with the non-authenticated version of that page.

Here’s an example of the difference between a non-authenticated user (first image) versus an authenticated user (second image) viewing the same Shipment.

2. Use the Search Option

The search widget brings users to a protected version of the customer's shipment page. This page shows limited shipment information while hiding sensitive data such as addresses, documents, and invoices.

a. Widget

Logixboard offers search widget that can be embedded on a customer's website. This allows end users to search for shipments directly from the customer's website without logging in.

Find more information about the Search Widget and how you can implement it on your website here.

b. Search Bar

Users have the ability to search for Shipment information via the search bar without logging in.

3. View Shipment Activity tab

Non-authenticated users have the ability to see all Events within the Activity tab of a Shipment.

4. Users can search by:

Limitations of Non-Authenticated Access

While public access provides some visibility, it's important to note the following limitations:

  • Full shipment details and sensitive information are not accessible

  • Advanced features and personalized data require logging in

  • The extent of information available may vary depending on how each customer has configured their Logixboard instance

Transitioning to Logged-In Access

Public access in Logixboard provides a preview of the platform's capabilities while maintaining data security, encouraging users to log in for a complete experience.

When a non-authenticated user attempts to access more information, they will be prompted to request account access.

Users will be requested to enter and submit the required details.

If the user is an existing user, they can click on the Sign In button, which will redirect them to the authentication flow. After successful authentication, the user will be redirected to the authenticated version of the page they started from, providing full access to their account features and data.
