1. What info is required to create a booking?

Client, Shipper, Consignee, Origin Port, Destination Port, and Goods Description.

2. Can only certain organizations have access to see the booking module and not others?

Yes. We can enable bookings for specific organizations.

3. How can users keep track of booking updates?

Email alerts can be enabled for bookings updates under the notifications menu.

4. Does all of the information from the booking, shipment details and cargo details push into the s-file? Do we have a list of those fields that we can send them?

We do not save all of the fields as some don't even exist in CargoWise. Find out more here in our internal doc mapping guide.

5. Do we attach the Booking ID # from LXB to the S-File when writing back to CargoWise?

We do not attach the booking ID to the S-file but we do add the link to the LXB view of the S-file in the Booking under the related shipment file.

6. Is the Bookings product integrated with the CargoWise Bookings module?

Yes. Users will have full visibility into all bookings based on real-time CargoWise data, regardless of where the booking originated.

7. Will the bookings explorer show all bookings even after they have been accepted and turned into shipments?

Correct. The accepted and confirmed bookings will be in the status column but the shipment file will still come via Logixboard as a shipment. The related shipment can be found in the Shipment Reference ID column which can be customized to the individual user’s desired reference ID.

8. Is there an ability to upload docs when creating a booking?

All users can upload documents when creating a booking request and at any point afterwards.

9. What is the best practice for when a client wants to enter a new ship-to party (for example) when submitting a booking?

  1. The expected workflow is:

  2. C2 enters new org into booking form.

  3. C1 sees new org when reviewing the booking request in LXB.

  4. C1 goes into CW1 and adds org.

  5. C1 comes back into LXB and selects new org to replace typed-in org

10. What’s the delay time between the booking confirmation and when it’s in CargoWise?

The creation of the shipment file in CargoWise usually takes 1-2 minutes but can depend on the traffic going through your CargoWise instance.

11. How will admins and operators be notified once the booking is in CargoWise and a shipment is created?

We don’t have an email set up for the writing to CargoWise being completed, but there will be a shipment reference ID in the table.

12. Is it possible to send an alert once a booking is created so it goes to a general mailbox?

When a client creates a booking request, the ops team will be notified given they have opted in to email alerts and have access to that organization.

13. What additional information can we provide to create the most complete booking?

  • Cargo Ready Date, Desired Delivery Date, Incoterms, Mode & Type, Reference Numbers, Weight, Volume, Container Size

14. Can we make edits to the bookings we create?

Yes, certain portions of the booking can be updated within Logixboard by admins or operators.

If so, do we have any limitations on the fields we can edit?

  • All fields except the Client, Shipper, and Consignee can be edited after the booking request has been submitted

  • Booking options cannot be edited once the customer has selected and approved an option

15. Can we define which CargoWise branch a shipment gets written to?

Yes. When saving a booking, the LSP can select which CW1 branch the shipment file should get created within.

16. When shippers or freight forwarders create a booking request can it be saved as a template?

Booking requests can be templated by clicking the button "Create a copy"
