This article covers the initial booking creation process.

Customers, admins, and operators can create a booking, depending on the use case. Required fields may vary by user.

Creating a Booking

  1. Navigate to the Bookings tab rom the main menu or the dashboard.

  2. Click Create New Booking

  3. Choose Mode: Ocean, Air, Rail, or Road

  4. Choose Type: Options depend on the mode (e.g., Ocean: LCL / FCL; Air: Loose / ULD)

(Optional) Link Orders: Search and select an existing order/orders to pre-fill details

  • Note: You can link more than one order only if they share the same supplier. If you select multiple orders, the form will pre-fill from the first selected order. Any differences across orders (e.g., dates) will be highlighted so you can consolidate before submitting.

Splitting or Partial Order: When linking an existing order during booking creation, you can now either split the order or ship it as a partial fulfillment. This gives you flexibility when a supplier can only ship part of the total quantity.

When this happens

  • Available only within the Bookings flow after linking an order.

  • You can also start from the Orders module using the “Create Booking” button, which takes you into the same workflow.

Split an Order

Use Split when some product will ship now and the rest later. For example, if an order has 100 units. The supplier only has 25 ready to ship.

  1. Link the order in your booking.

  2. Edit the line-item quantity to 25.

  3. Choose Split.

What happens next:

  • The original order updates to 25 units and is linked to this booking.

  • A new order is automatically created for the remaining 75 units.

    • The new order ID is appended with “-1,” “-2,” etc. (e.g., ORD-1001-1).

  • You can later link the new order to another booking when the next shipment is ready.

Ship a Partial Order

Use Ship Partial when the supplier will never fulfill the rest of the quantity. For example, if an order has 100 units, but only 25 will ever ship.

  1. Link the order in your booking.

  2. Edit the line-item quantity to 25.

  3. Choose Ship Partial.

What happens next:

  • The existing order simply updates to 25 units total.

  • No new order is created.

  • The updated order is linked to the booking.
