1. Do Settings and Notification updates affect everyone?

Notifications in the platform are user-specific and not globally configured by Admins.

2. Why am I not receiving notifications?

To ensure you receive notifications:

  • Verify that you have selected notifications for your specific organization.

  • If the notification is related to document uploads, check if you have enabled notifications for the specific document types you want to be notified about.

3. What Settings can users access?

Admins have access to all Settings but Operators cannot access the Customization and the Document types tab.
​Operators can add invite customers to the system if their settings are configured to do so but by default, they cannot invite new Customers.
Customers only have access to their own personal Profile details and Notifications tab.

4. How do message notifications work?

  • By default, the New Shipment Message Notification is enabled for all users.

  • When this is enabled, you will receive all email notification about messages related to your shipment-related parties.

  • You can customize your notifications by selecting specific organizations you want to receive message notifications from (if you have access to multiple Orgs).

  • If enabled, you will receive ALL messages whenever any other user sends a message within that shipment.

5. What do the email notifications look like?

Here is an example of what the notifications look like - this example shows the email for when a customs status has been updated. These emails are white-labeled with your logo and brand colors.

6. Can I receive notifications without enabling Notification for all Orgs?

Yes, you can opt to Follow Shipments instead. When you follow a shipment, you will receive email notifications for:

  • New messages

  • Document uploads

  • Status updates

This ensures you only get notifications relevant to the shipments you choose to track.

To do so, simply go to the Shipment and click the bell icon

7. What are Global Notifications?

Global notifications mean you will receive email alerts for status updates linked to every shipment you have access too. Click the bell icon next to a shipment to receive email notifications for status changes and updates on that specific shipment. You can unfollow a shipment from the notifications menu.

8. How do I tailor Org-specific notifications?

You can set up your CargoWise Staff or Branch Permissions for operators so they're only linked to specific organisations and therefore will only receive global notifications for those organisations.

Otherwise, admins and operators can enable notifications for specific organizations on the notifications menu without changing access levels.
